KS of Russia acknowledged legality of the agreement of Ingushetia and Chechnya on border

The constitutional court of Russia on Thursday decided that holding a referendum on border between Chechnya and Ingushetia is not required, TASS reports. On September 26 heads of Ingushetia and Chechnya concluded the agreement on border meaning exchange of territories. Residents of Ingushetia opposed the contract, in the republic protest actions took place. The constitutional court of Ingushetia noted that the legislation of the republic demands to consider opinion of the population at the solution of such questions, that is to hold a referendum. KS of Russia recognized as constitutional and the agreement on border and the law issued in Ingushetia fixing it. The court also noted that neither the referendum, nor the statement of the Federation Council as the border does not change is required, and is established for the first time.
