Scientists found communication between a lack of vitamin D and schizophrenia

The international group of scientists conducted researches which revealed communication between a lack of vitamin D and risk of development of schizophrenia, Science Alert tells. Specialists of the Queensland institute of a brain (Australia) and Aarhus University (Denmark) examined more than two and a half thousand Danes for whom schizophrenia is diagnosed. In particular, they estimated concentration of vitamin D at blood of examinees which samples took in infancy. Scientists came to a conclusion that the deficiency of this vitamin B the first months of life increases risk of development of schizophrenia at later age by 44%.
