The new president of the International chess federation is elected

Arkady Dvorkovich has been elected to a post of the president of the International chess federation (FIDE). Vote has taken place on the congress FIDE on October 3 in Georgia. Following the results of elections Dvorkovich has displaced the vice-president of the organization Georgis Makropulos who headed federation since 1986. – I would like to thank you for trust and devotion to chess. I want to assure you that work in FIDE will be my constant task, we will report to you, we will conduct completely transparent activity. As it was reported earlier, promotion of the former Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich on a post of the president of FIDE was supported by the Russian chess Federation at the end of June of the current year.
