The refusal will deny false information to be punished under the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation

The president Vladimir Putin has approved the law making changes to article 315 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Now for refusal to deny false information it will be possible to be imprisoned for a period of up to one year. The text of the law providing introduction of criminal liability for non-performance of the judgment about a denial of false information has appeared on October 2 on the official portal of legal information. The person which has allowed distribution of false information and not executed the requirement of court about a denial of such data at the scheduled time is subject to a penalty according to the Administrative Code. In case the citizen doesn't execute the requirement in again established period, he is subject to criminal liability. New rules have prescribed the minimum punishment for such natural persons – a penalty in the amount of 10 to 25 thousand rubles. Imprisonment for a period of up to one year will become the most severe punishment. It is noted that deputies of the State Duma have adopted the law in final reading on September 20.
