The terminal of the airport of Budapest was closed because of radioactive material from Russia

One of terminals of the international airport of Budapest was closed for three hours because of the ntsident with the container containing radioactive material. MTI has reported about it. An incident has occurred on Wednesday, August 15, in the evening. According to representatives of the airport, the terminal has been closed from 19:30 till 22:30 (20:30 – 23:30 Moscow time) local time that has caused a delay of eight flights. The overheated container in which there was an iridium isotope became the reason of acceptance of emergency measures. As informs the agency, one of the Hungarian companies has ordered this substance in the Russian city of Dimitrovgrad. According to preliminary data, the container was aboard the Turkish Airlines companies which has arrived in Budapest from Istanbul. The experts who have arrived to the place haven't found leak of radioactive material. – No noxious to health substances have got to the environment. Passengers are in perfect security, – the representative of management on emergency situations of Hungary Marton to Hyde has reported to the agency. According to the representative of the Izotop Intezet Kft company, temperature increase when transporting radioactive materials is considered the normal phenomenon.
